Sarla Aviation and Government of Goa Sign MoU to Build India’s First Coastal Aerial Mobility State

Goa has always been one of the world’s most naturally gifted destinations — known for its coastline, culture, hospitality, and natural heritage. Yet despite its global appeal, travellers often spend hours navigating road congestion before they reach their hotels, retreats, and beachside destinations. The final stretch of the journey has remained the slowest and most taxing part of the experience.

On 28th November, Sarla Aviation signed an MoU with the Government of Goa to jointly explore the introduction of eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) mobility across the state. This initiative aims to position Goa as India’s first Coastal Aerial Mobility State, creating a model for clean, efficient, and nature-aligned transportation designed specifically for tourism and regional connectivity.

The vision is straightforward: a traveller lands at Dabolim or Mopa → walks to a departure pod → takes off in a quiet, zero-emission eVTOL → and arrives directly at their resort, retreat, or heritage destination in minutes instead of hours. No congestion. No noise pollution. No tailpipe emissions. And no added burden on Goa’s sensitive coastal infrastructure.

This partnership is not about deploying mass air taxis. It is about precision aerial mobility — a carefully designed system that complements Goa’s geography, enhances the visitor experience, and supports the state’s environmental priorities. For coastal regions around the world, the challenge is always the same: tourism grows, but infrastructure and natural ecosystems face increasing pressure. Goa now has the opportunity to set a global benchmark for how mobility can support tourism without compromising ecological integrity.

If successful, this framework can serve as a blueprint for other coastal and heritage destinations across India. As the country strengthens its global tourism presence, aerial mobility offers a path to improve access while preserving the landscapes people travel to experience.

Coastal Aerial Mobility begins in Goa — and the world is watching.
